Buckeye Wind Project Buckeye Wind Project, LLC submitted their application (Case No: 08-0666-EL-BGN) to the Public Utility Commission of Ohio on April 24, 2009. The proposed project will be located in Champaign County and will consist of 70 wind turbines and related infrastructure. Depending on the turbine model that is selected the estimated total generating capacity is between 125 – 175 MW. Construction is anticipated to begin in mid 2010 and is be in operation approximately one year later.
Hardin Wind Energy, LLC Hardin Wind Energy LLC submitted their application (Case No.: 09-0479-EL-BGN) to the Public Utility Commission of Ohio on July 10, 2009. The proposed project will be located on 23,000 acres in Hardin County. It will consist of either 120 turbines capable of producing 2.5 MW each or 200 turbines capable of producing 1.5 MW each. Construction is anticipated to begin in October 2010 and is be in operation approximately one year later.
